LG Chem stated that the lithium iron phosphate cathode materials produced by the Moroccan plant will be supplied to the North American market. Due to the free trade agreement between Morocco and the United States, the plant can receive subsidies under the US Inflation Reduction Act. LG Chem also announced an additional investment plan to establish a lithium conversion plant in Morocco with Huayou Cobalt, with the goal of starting mass production by 2025, with an annual capacity of 52,000 tons of lithium.<\/p><p>These companies will not only introduce advanced battery manufacturing technology and equipment but will also establish production lines locally, forming a complete automotive battery supporting industrial zone, deeply participating in the construction and operation of the battery production industrial park. Among them, oil shale reserves exceed 100 billion tons, containing 60 billion tons of crude oil, accounting for 3.5% of the world&#8217;s total.
