The project is also Tesla&#8217;s first energy storage superfactory project outside the United States.<\/p><p>The Tesla energy storage megafactory\u00a0will plan to produce Megapack. The initial plan is to produce up to 10,000 commercial energy storage batteries per year, with an energy storage scale of nearly 40GWh, and the scope of product supply covers the global market.<\/p><p>The Tesla energy storage superfactory project is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2023 and put into production in the second quarter of 2024.<\/p><h2 id=\"Tesla-megafactory-layout\">Tesla megafactory layout<\/h2><p>Tesla&#8217;s production capacity layout covers North America, Asia and Europe. This is Tesla&#8217;s first self-built megafactory. It was completed and put into production in June 2014. This factory mainly produces power batteries, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.takomabattery.com\/what-you-should-know-about-powerwall-battery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #333399;text-decoration: underline\">Powerwall<\/span><\/span><\/a> and Powerback.<\/p><p><strong>(2) The second\u00a0megafactory\u00a0-New York factory<\/strong><\/p><p>Tesla acquired Solarcity&#8217;s plant in 2016 and used it to build its second Gigafactory, which is situated in New York, USA. This facility specializes in manufacturing solar roofs and has a weekly capacity of 1,000 sets of roof equipment for use with Powerwall and Powerback.<\/p><p><strong>(3) The third megafactory -Shanghai factory<\/strong><\/p><p>Tesla&#8217;s third\u00a0megafactory\u00a0is located in Shanghai, and it is the fastest-built factory. It took only 10 months for engineering construction, and it was officially put into operation in early 2019. The third factory mainly produces Model3 and ModelY. At least 500,000 cars and the required batteries will be produced annually, and at least 12,000 jobs will be created there.<\/p><p>On March 22, 2022, Tesla&#8217;s\u00a0megafactory\u00a0in the suburbs of Berlin, Germany officially opened. On October 2, 2022, Tesla announced that the weekly production of Model Y cars at the Berlin megafactory\u00a0reached 2,000.<\/p><p><strong>(5) Fremont factory -California factory<\/strong><\/p><p>This factory is located in California, USA. It is not Tesla&#8217;s own factory, but acquired through cooperation. On October 19, 2010, Tesla took ownership of the factory, and it officially opened on October 27.<\/p><p>On June 22, 2012, Tesla delivered the first Model S here.
